Description

Irresistible Crunchwrap Supremes bring Mexican-inspired street food right to home kitchens with layers of seasoned beef, crisp tortillas, and melted cheese. Packed with zesty flavors and easy assembly, you’ll craft a restaurant-quality meal that satisfies ultimate comfort food cravings.

Ingredients

Scale

Protein:

  • 1 pound (454 grams) lean ground beef

Tortillas and Shells:

  • 4 burrito size flour tortillas
  • 4 street taco size tortillas
  • 4 tostada shells

Toppings and Seasonings:

  • 4 tablespoons (56 grams) taco seasoning (1 ounce packet)
  • 1/4 cup (60 milliliters) water
  • 1 cup (240 milliliters) nacho cheese sauce
  • 1 cup (240 grams) sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups (180 grams) shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup (150 grams) chopped tomatoes
  • olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking into small crumbles. Drain excess fat, then mix with taco seasoning and water, simmering until beef is fully coated and fragrant.
  2. Arrange burrito-sized tortillas on a clean work surface, creating a stable base for assembly.
  3. Distribute beef mixture evenly in the center of each tortilla, then layer a tostada shell directly on top.
  4. Spread nacho cheese across the tostada shell, creating a smooth, even layer. Top with a dollop of sour cream, ensuring complete coverage.
  5. Sprinkle fresh lettuce and diced tomatoes over the sour cream, adding a crisp and vibrant element to the layers.
  6. Place a smaller street taco tortilla on top, then carefully fold the larger tortilla edges inward, creating tight, overlapping pleats to secure the filling.
  7. Lightly coat a non-stick skillet with olive oil and heat to medium. Cook each Crunchwrap seam-side down for approximately 3 minutes until golden and crispy, then flip and repeat on the opposite side.

Notes

  • Choose lean ground beef or swap with turkey, chicken, or plant-based crumbles for a healthier protein alternative that reduces fat content.
  • For gluten-free options, use corn tortillas and ensure taco seasoning is gluten-free certified.
  • Keep Crunchwraps sealed tightly by using slightly warmed tortillas which become more pliable and less likely to crack during folding.
  • When assembling, work quickly and press edges firmly to prevent ingredients from spilling during cooking, creating a perfect sealed package.
